Nordic Center of the Rockies Steamboat Springs boasts fi ve Nordic ski areas within a 30-mile radius, in addition to backcountry trails within the 520,000 acres of National Forest and State Parks and almost 400,000 acres of National Wilderness Areas that surround Steamboat Springs. Elevations of these trails range from 6,696 feet on the valley fl oor to over 10,000 feet near the Continental Divide so there’s a trail for every skier’s ability. Plus, there’s no shortage of experts in town, willing to give pointers in a clinic or share their skills in a lesson.
