There is nothing more convenient than staying in a Ski-in/Ski-out condo at the base of the Steamboat Ski Resort!! Don't just think skiing if you come during the Summer as well, there are numerous activities right outside your door for family adventures all year long! There are miles of hiking and mtn bike trails, fishing on the Yampa or Elk River, or work on your golf game at one of several local golf courses. There is a private shuttle access at the Club units during the winter, a large assortment of restaurants and apres ski meeting places are also close by. The Storm Meadows Club complex also includes a complete spa facility with heated outdoor pool, hot tub, sauna, weight room, and exercise equipment. There are many different buildings associated with Storm Meadows, and each one might have some pro's and con's compared to another building at Storm Meadows depending on what is most important to you and your family. This can impact what view you might have, access to a pool, whether the condo is Ski in/walk out or Ski In/Ski Out, shuttle service or whether you can walk to Ski Time Square. Here is a brief description on two of those locations:
Storm Meadows Christie Base:
There are many different buildings associated with Storm Meadows, Storm Meadows 353 is locatedat Storm Meadows Christie Base. This location sits lower on the ski mountain near where the "right of way" green run joins in with the bottom of the ski mountain near the old Christie Lift. The beauty of this location is your proximity to Torian Plum Plaza, Ski Time Square and the new heated public Promenade that connects all those locations together. Steamboat also has a new permanent outdoor stage that is part of the revamped Gondola Square Plaza that will play host to public performances as well as the Bud Light Rocks the Boat Free Concert Series.
When you exit the bottom of this building you can walk to Ski Time Square in 2-3 minutes, no need to get on a shuttle, people can be on different schedules, some people can be skiing while others are shopping or watching the game at the bar - - convenience for the whole family!! We also have units in the Storm Meadows Club buildings that sit slightly higher on the Ski mountain, have access to the outdoor heated pool and private shuttle. Storm Meadows Christie Base units do not have access to the Pool or work out facility, they do have their own shared hot tub facility. The Storm Meadows Christie base building does not have a private shuttle that comes to the building, but you can walk down to Ski Time Square and get on the Free City Shuttle system.
Storm Meadows Club Condos
The Storm Meadows Club condominiums are located a little higher on the hill up Storm Meadows Drive. This complex is Ski-in / Ski-out via a green run called "right of way" that leads down from the base of the Thunderhead lift to the base of the ski mountain. There are short "cat walks" that lead from the bottom of each building to the ski run "right of way". When you are coming to condos during the day there are other cat walks coming from a higher angle that lead back to the bottom of each building.
These units share a clubhouse facility that includes an outdoor heated pool, shared hot tubs, work out facilty, exercise machines and sauna. During the winter months, these units are considered a little too far to walk back down to the base area, mainly due to the icy road with traffic being dangerous. As long as the ski resort has closed for the day and lifts have stopped running, you could walk down to the base of the ski resort via the Righ of Way run, but keep in mind you will be walking on top of groomed snow. This complex does have a private shuttle that will bring you from the base of the condos, to the base of the ski resort and also to the grocery and/or downtown Steamboat Springs for shopping and dining.
