Strawberry Park Hot Springs: A Guide To Visiting
Published on 12/18/2020 by Brad Luth
Just outside of Steamboat Springs nestled alongside Hot Springs Creek lies one of the most spectacular mineral springs in the world. Imagine relaxing in 104-degree mineral water while Steamboat’s famous Champagne Powder gently collects in the surrounding forest. Enjoy a massage in one of our beautiful private massage huts or a watsu therapy in our private pool. The pools are perfect for relaxing after a long day of skiing or hiking, and after your first visit, you may want to come for the entire day! Here is a breakdown of what the entire park has to offer.
Strawberry Hot Springs offers a few different types of massages. They encourage you to treat yourself right and enrich your rejuvenating experiences with the healing springs with a massage. They have a team of therapists that can cater to any of your needs, whether you are looking for overall relaxation or a massage with a specific, focused approach, the therapists are on staff and ready to assist you. The massage therapists are available daily, and each therapist is fully licensed and insured. Reservations are recommended to ensure that the therapist is available. You can choose from a regular massage or a Watsu massage. Watsu is aquatic therapy, so don’t forget your swimsuit.
For those who can’t settle for just a day trip to Strawberry Park, you have the option of camping or staying in one of their cabins. They have a few different options like the Train Caboose, the large rustic cabin, the small rustic cabin, the covered wagon, and of course the tent site and camping area. Each area of lodging has access to the hot pools/ natural hot springs after hours. There are also restrooms and changing rooms available for those who are staying in tents and prefer a more natural setting. Check-in time is around 5:00 pm and check-out time is 11 Am. Any changes to reservations are asked to be made within 14 days of the reservations.
Although the park tries its best to make sure the hot springs are not at max capacity, sometimes it is. So, a great option if it is full or you are not interested in the springs is the shuttle tours. Two shuttle companies have four-wheel-drive vehicles to safely transport you from downtown Steamboat Springs to old town hot springs. Sweet Pea Tours is the perfect option for those waiting on others to finish their unwinding time in the spa. You can also check out the Hot Springs Shuttle. These shuttles can take you anywhere in the Yampa Valley, Routt National Forest, Steamboat Ski Resort, to the hot springs.
Strawberry Park is dedicated to making this area the most comfortable and relaxing it can before all of its visitors. This is why they include restrooms, a teepee and heated cavin for changing, and picnic areas. Private areas are available for Watsu and table massages. Food is only allowed in the picnic areas to ensure the protection of the park as well as the comfort and safety of the guests. It is asked that there is no glass in the park to maintain any breakage.
While hot tubs are nice, there is something about a natural hot spring and its different temperatures that does good for the soul. If you have had it with the gondola rides and need a quick getaway, Strawberry Park is the place to escape to. It is one of Colorado’s most visited places. We hope to see you soon in Steamboat Springs.
